The #CTMeetup

The #CTMeetup: Why Meeting Other Bloggers Is So Beneficial

On Saturday the 9th of May, I attended my first blogger meetup at the #CTMeetup which was held at the Italian Kitchen in Newlands. My blog is still fairly new, although I have been to a few blogger events recently, I was excited to meet new bloggers and say hi to the few blogger friends I have already made.

This event was organised by the amazing Cindy Alfino who blogs over at 3 Kids, 2 Dogs, 1 Old House and she really did a brilliant job! On arrival we got to meet all the bloggers who were there and Rain Africa indulged us with the most amazing neck, shoulder and hand massages with the deliciously smelling products! Snacks, wine and grape juice were available for us to nibble on and we were then called inside.

Our awesome Goodie Bags were packed with these amazing goodies from all our wondeful sponsors at the #CTMeetup

We were SERIOUSLY spoiled by all the sponsors - Thank you, to all of them!! All wine that was on the tables was also sponsored by Cindy's company, Incompass Insurance. We then heard lovely talks on a Beautiful Life from Ronel from Rain Africa, Melissa Louise from Zana products (who I die for!) and Jenny Coulson from Zomato. Two quotes from Melissa and Jenny that really stood out for me were:

"Confidence is key; if you're not confident in what you're doing, how can others be confident in what you're selling? At the same time, if you're not working hard, confidence means nothing."
- Melissa Louise

"It's not just about the big moments, but also about the small moments that make life beautiful."
- Jenny Coulson

Cindy then donned her Oprah Winfrey hat and had a draw for the most unbelievable giveaways!! Unfortunately I didn't win any of these prizes, but I did win a lovely make-up hamper from Essence!! :)

Thank you to these wonderful sponsors for our amazing prizes:

- 2 x copies of "Pens Behaving Badly" from Uitgewers Publishers
- A pack of TWG tea from Baked In The Cape

- R500 voucher for Zana

Revlon South Africa spoiled us silly with gorgeous beauty products!

As we were enjoying being spoiled by our wonderful sponsors, the Italian Kitchen brought out mouth-watering pizzas that we all devoured as lady-like as possible! Guys, those pizzas were amazing! If you're looking for a place to enjoy good pizza and a great vibe, this Dean Street restaurant is a must-visit!

The best Zana pencil/makeup cases were gifted to us at the #CTMeetup!

If you missed this meetup and would like to be at the next one, do yourself a favour and get in contact with Cindy at cindyalfino@gmail.com and she'll put you down on the mailing list. I really enjoyed meeting so many new people and will definitely not miss another one!
